Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa aka Castle in the Sky is tied as my favorite Miyazaki movie alongside Princess Mononoke my 2 favorite movies as a child. I know this movie is almost 30 years old, but I recently re-watched it and I cried reminiscing about my childhood and thought I should write my first review on it. Taking advantage of the ensuing confusion, Sheeta tries to run away from her captors. When stranded on an airship, she finds herself hopeless - that is, until the ship is ravaged by pirates. In a world overrun with planes and airships, Sheeta is a young girl who has been kidnapped by government agents who are searching for her mysterious crystal amulet. Miyazakis earlier anime series Future Boy Conan (1978) featured a number of elements that he later adapted for Castle in the Sky. It was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki in 1986. Dola is as tough as a pair of Boudicca’s boots in fact, she bears more than a passing resemblance to the old British queen herself, with her imposing physique and furious tenacity. Castle in the Sky (also known as Laputa: Castle in the Sky) is an animation movie produced by Studio Ghibli. Conversely, Captain Dola and her crew of hapless pirate sons, are colourful additions with their expressive faces and comical clothing and despite their naughty intentions, provide humour and adventure. He is a government agent who wishes to find and control the lost city of Laputa, in order to take power over it and rule the world. Muska’s plainly drawn face and laundered suit reflect coldness, which, with Hamill’s measured tones, evokes little empathy.
